Tools Setup For Mac Rating: 3,6/5 1794 reviews

I just did a clean install on my Macbook Pro running 10.7 Lion OSX. My hard drive is 500 GB. How would you suggest configuring my rig? Would it be wise to get a 2nd internal drive for my sessions? I have a Glyph GT050Q that I was going to use for all of my sessions but it's quite bulky and almost defeats the purpose of having a portable setup. For my sample libraries should I then use another drive to stream off of? Or would it be acceptable to use the same drive that all my sessions are on for sample streaming.

Setup

I will be using this setup primarily for editing and mixing so I'm looking for a cheap but quality audio interface. I had my eye on the Focusrite vrm box, if you guys have any other suggestions that meet this criteria let me know what they are.

For your boot drive that runs applications Intel 520 or OWC Mercury extreme pro 6g 240 or 480 gb are excellent. Never record music onto your boot drive!!!!!! Get an external 2tb from OWC or la Cie quadra. They are cheap.
