Hi, you'll need an 'wintab' driver to get it working in autocad, search for it and install it. Next, find a layout (usually in the autocad folders, someting like xxxtablet.dwg), make a print and put it on the tablet (under the clear plastic sheet??) Now config it. Type: Tablet, cfg, 4 (numbers of menu parts), Yes, now start give the points, can be seen on the print as big dots. Start for menu 1 on the top left, bottom left (between I and J/1), bottom right (between I and J/25), give in the number of columns and rows. Menu 2: Top left is between I and J/1, bottom left is between R and S/1, bottom right is between R and S/25.

Menu 3: Top left is between I and J/22, bottom left is between R and S/22, bottom right is between R and S/25. Menu 4: Top left is between R and S/1, bottom left is at Z 1, bottom right is at Z 25. Screen menu: yes, bottlom left is R/S-11/12, top right is I/J-22/23. Floating screen is no. When using the standard autocad menu (cui) the commands on this tablet should work just by picking on one of these icons on the tablet. Regards, Jan louis1323 wrote: Hello everyone!

I have an old Wacon UD-1212-R digitizer and a laptop. The table was stored for a loong time but previously was working on another system-computer. It has a RS-232 serial port which it can be adapted via cable to an USB port. Doesn´t have any penor stylus if it needs one. Can anyone, pease direct me how to make it work'? As you can see I am absolutely new in this bussness. Your feedback would be much appreciated.

When running the most recent (and only) Wacom driver for my Intuos GD-0912-R wacom tablet (serial, not usb), my computer recognizes the tablet (I see it in the device list), but no matter how often I install the driver 613-5 (or even the 612-5 version), there is 'no driver installed' and the tablet doesn't work. It lights up when I use the pen, but it doesn't work as a pointing device. Can you please advice? I've had this tablet for years, it works great on every other computer I've had. I would understand a more limited support for Windows7, but nothing at all? Can somebody please advice? Thank you Wim.

You need to install WacomTablet605-7 - you can get that from the Wacom website, that is the highest-version wacom driver that supports serial port tablets. I got mine to work today. Here are the steps I've taken:. Download. Right-click on WacomTablet605-7 and select properties.

In the Compatibility Tab select 'Run this program in compatibility mode for' Windows Vista. Select Run this program as an administrator in the Privelege Level group box. Apply and close the properties dialog. Run WacomTablet605-7. After WacomTablet605-7 finishes - reboot. Once Win7 reboots you will have a functioning Wacom Tablet I've done this on my own system running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Device manager still shows a warning triangle under Other Devices - WACOM GD, but the Wacom 4D mouse and the Wacom Stylus both work.

I hope this helps, Pavel. Yes, my GD-0912-R really works on Windows 7.

My DELL Insprion 530 does not have a real serial port, so I use a Skymaster USB to serial cable. I first had to install the correct driver for this. I found out that the driver is a Prolific usb-to-serial and I had to look for a working version in Windows 7. In another forum I found a hint to that: and then got the zip file from there: I first removed the power cable from the Wacom so that only the Usb-to-Serial cable is found.

Then I installed the driver above. Now Windows 7 tells me which COM port it uses for that device. For me it was COM3. That is important for the registry hack.

So I started regedit.exe opened the HKEYLOCALMACHINE SOFTWARE and added the key 'Tablet' and then added a new string 'PnPTablets' and then entered the value ',COM3'. (Notice: in regedit you don't enter the quotes). Now i plugged in the power cable of my Intuos board and refreshed the hardware manager. It finds the WACOM device, but no driver. Then I downloaded the latest Intuos driver in version 6.10.x, all newer drivers don't have the serial driver support integrated. So I used 6.10.6.

You found it at the wacom if you search for Vista drivers of Intuos (and not Windows 7, these are newer than 6.10). Then I've installed the wacom driver and rebooted. And I'm happy again can will go to Windows 7 with my installation. Hi Wim Unfortunately, when a hardware manufacturer no longer supports a device with updated drivers, there is not a lot we can do, but there are some built-in options you can try. See the following post for the basic steps to install the driver in compatibility mode for a previous operating system. I recommend selecting a version of the operating system that was being used when that device was purchased. If this does not work, contact Wacom Support to see what other options are available.

Hope this helps. Thank You for using Windows 7. Yes, my GD-0912-R really works on Windows 7. My DELL Insprion 530 does not have a real serial port, so I use a Skymaster USB to serial cable. I hope this helps, Pavel. Setup: Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Intuos GD-0608-R (connected to serial port.) Driver 6.10.6 (pro610-6int.exe) (The one linked in Scherer's post. You can also get it by searching the European Wacom site; it won't appear in the Americas Wacom site.) Here is the stream lined version of what I did.

Before starting, download the international driver version 6.10.6. And uninstall all 'Wacom' and 'Tablet/Pen Tablet' entries using 'Control PanelUninstall a program'.

Also, unplug any other tablets. Shut down the computer and connect the tablet to the serial port and plugged in tablet power supply. Turn the computer back on.

(At this point the tablet showed up in 'Device Manager' under 'Other devices' as 'WACOM GD'. Because the computer recognized the device, I didn't have to make any changes to the registry.) 4. Right-click on the driver file and set compatibility mode to 'Windows 2000' and check the box for 'Run program as administrator'. Apply the changes. Install the driver and restart.

When the computer started up again the tablet was working, however, there was no 'Wacom Tablet Properties' in the start menu and I couldn't find it elsewhere. (If you have it, then congratulations, you're done and can ignore the rest of this post.

If not.) Right click again on the Driver file and change compatibility mode to 'Windows Vista' (leave the 'Run program as administrator' box checked) and apply the changes. Double click on the file to install the drivers again and restart. This should give you the functionality of the Windows 2000 patch with the properties shortcut of the Windows Vista patch. (Be sure to install it using Windows 2000 compatibility mode first. When I tried installing it first with Vista compatibility mode, the tablet did not work.) Hopefully this works for you. Even if it doesn't, keep trying. I can confirm that a Wacom serial tablet works on Windows 7 64-bit without using a USB converter.

Thanks to everyone in this thread for helping me out.
